“We arrived on a Thursday on a beautiful sunny day in late October. We were only staying one night, but the staff of the hotel were fantastic. Everyone from reception to housekeeping were so pleasant, friendly and helpful. We had dinner in the Bar, and the food was very good. The breakfast the following morning was a buffet breakfast, with everything you could want in a breakfast. Lots of choice - fresh fruit of all kinds, yogurt, full cooked breakfast, with juices and fresh coffee. The rooms were very nicely painted and fresh looking. The bathroom was very clean, but there was no shower-cap, and the shampoo/body wash was not great. It would have been a nice touch if bathrobe and slippers were provided too. All in all a very pleasant stay, and great value for money. We had a lovely time, and would definitely recommend the Hotel to family and friends.”

But decided to stay again on my return from Dublin and was not disappointed. Would highly recommend it for either business or pleasure.”

“Nice, clean comfortable hotel in a good location if travelling by car. A bit of a trek into the town so a car definitely required. I would query the 4 star rating as the room decor is a wee bit shabby. Having said that the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was very good with a good choice of cooked food and the continental selection. We didn't eat in the restaurant on this trip but the hotel was very busy on both nights of our stay with Christmas party nights so I would take that as a good sign fro the quality of food etc. We were greeted by Lisa on reception who was lovely. She seemed genuinely interested in us being there and could not have been more enthusiastic or encouraging about our stay in Sligo. We met her then on checkout and again her natural friendliness and personal interest in how we had enjoyed our stay was a nice touch. Overall, a good hotel and we would stay here again.”

“Lovely hotel with a panoramic view of the mountains and the sea. The lobby is very comfortable with lots of sofas and a big fire. We ate in the bar where the food was very good. The staff are exceptional, from reception to housekeeping, every request was met with a smile. I would definitely recommend it and will return.”

“we got a good welcome on arrival, although it was a very cold day outside when we got to our room there was no heating on and i had to ask for the heating to be turned on,The windows had mildew on them as had the net curtains, there were cobwebs around the room apart from this the bedding and bathroom were spotless,The hotel had a lively atmosphere and in general we had an enjoyable stay. The breakfast was piping hot and fresh and there was plenty of everything, I would stay here again , I advised the receptionist of the problems we had and she took note of this ,everyone deserves a second chance”

“On Saturday 28th Feb we stayed in the Sligo Park Hotel. The hotel itself was fine, if a bit noisy during the night due to a wedding, however we had the same receptionist when checking in and out. The wedding party was having a welcome drink in reception at the time of our arrival and the receptionist was speaking so low that we had to ask her to repeat what she was saying several times. On checkout she never asked if we enjoyed our stay, just wanted our room number and credit card, never spoke beyond that not even to say thank you or goodbye. She put our receipt on the counter and walked off. Not a great send off!”

“hotel needs updating grout round the bath was black, plug hole was a scummy green. could have copped with that but when we arrived the room was freezing. could not find a clean table to sit at for breakfast. The staff are not very polite they all need a good kick up the backside.”

“Stayed for 2 nights lovely hotel. Very friendly staff on all fronts bar reception and restaurant . Didn't use pool but looked very nice. I asked for quiet big room and we got it with the nice lady on reception noting to us what we had requested. We would recommend this hotel with great atmosphere . Lovely music both nights in the bar”

“We had a lovely stay at the Sligo Park Hotel. Staff very friendly and couldn't do enough for you, especially at reception and leisure reception. Gave us lovely routes to take sight seeing. Plenty to do with the kids. Food was lovely at hotel but I did think the bar menu was a bit pricey. Rooms clean but bedside lockers a bit tatty and lets the room down. Overall had a pleasant stay and would go back. Caroline, Co. Kildare.”

The swimming pool,Jacuzzi and sauna were ideal after a day hill walking on Benbulben and Knocknarea The staff were pleasant and helpful during iour stay and had no issues Location wise it's a 30-35 min walk in to the centre of Sligo Town, so you can walk off your meal if the weather is good. We would definitely stay at the Park again”

“we were a party of 4 people who cycled 50 miles to sligo and stayed in the hotel overnight. we dropped off our bags the day before and our bicycles where securely locked away when we arrived. staff were very friendly/helpful. we ate in the bar and enjoyed a lovely breakfast. the room was very nice”

“Stayed one night with family nice hotel, staff were helpful and friendly, great lobby to sit and have a drink if bar not your thing. Nice touch free dvd's and player at reception to keep the kids entertained in your room, breakfast was ok, pitty they dnt do semi-skimmed milk. Hotel close to Sligo county gaa ground so when a game is on, carpark is rammed as we found when we arrived and couldn't get a spot. leisure facilities looked very nice and had planned to avail of them before we left next day, but our room(242) had a window with two broken latches so the room had a draft coming in and we woke up abit bunged up and skipped the pool. All in all I would stay in this hotel again.”

“Yes this is my third time to stay the Sligo Park and I was very satisfied with the staff and hospitality. The rooms are very nice and very comfortable. My children were allowed to stay in the swimming pool for a significant length of time which was great. I would definately be back to stay in the hotel again.”

“Average hotel, rooms on web different to what you get when you check in, however staff had no problem switching us to nicer room. Reception area very old style and grubby. Breakfast 3 star. Got very over cooked (burnt) omelette. Staff very helpful, good tour guide available (when you ask). Good base for touring.”

“This is a top class hotel. Had a family wedding there, stayed there on a number of occasions, called in there for food when passing,had a meal after a funeral there and I can say, hand on heart I never had a complaint. Would recomend this place to anyone, friendly and efficient on check in, and the staff througout the hotel are friendly and helpful. Mind you I dont think they can perform miracles, so if you are looking for something like that be prepared to be disappointed, everything else is dooable. James Hannon”

“staff were nice, food alittle pricey...ie 5.60 for 5 chicken wings as starter in the bar. hotel is very dated and rooms a little shabby ie dirty curtains losse fittings in tiolet, old furnishings mould on windows and frames and walls...We were at rear of hotel and the rooms at the front of hotel seemed a better standard.... We had brought a usb chip to let kids watch the odd movie but unlike most hotels nowadays there was no flat screen just a small tubed tv. We asked for a family room but got a standard room with just another bed squashed in... was very tight. Handy for sligo town as 2 mins from city center.. so over all a 2.5/5 score”

“Lovely hotel with lovely staff. The breakfast was nice. The gym is quite small as are the dressing rooms. The pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room are very nice. Overall I would recommend this hotel. One addition for the hotel is there is very little storage space. I stayed 5 nights and myself and my partner could not find room to unpack.”

“The Sligo Park Hotel is a wonderful hotel to spend a holiday. We were there for a short break and unfortunately the weather wasn't too good so we didn't get a chance to explore the area. However, the hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was really spacious and clean with a nice view overlooking the outskirts of town. The atmosphere was lively but not obtrusive. The food was excellent ,plentiful and tasty especially the evening dinner which was scrumptious !!. THe bar had entertainment at night , the car park was free. I didn;t use the swimming pool or gym but plenty of guests seemed to be enjoying these facilities. It was great value for money and I would certainly recommend it and will definitely return in Spring. It was a most relaxing and enjoyable stay for my husband and myself”

We were asked to move on 2nd day to a nicer room the hotel had an issue with hot water in this part of the complexl.There are better rooms on the 3rd floor, bar was fine and the pool too. Staff were helpfull and the breakfast was really good. The town centre is a 20 minute walk.”

“Very warm and welcoming staff. Hotel very family friendly. Seem to love having children to stay. Lovely food and ample portions. On the negative side room and foyer very cold. Had to get a portable heater for our room. Coming out of pool extremely cold in the changing rooms and passing into family room which is a bit awkward to get to with small children. Outside of hotel could do with a little care and attention even a few seasonal bulbs could have cheered the place up a little as lovely gazebos going to waste. Also unusual that we had to wait for a seat in restaurant on two mornings for breakfast. Would suggest breakfast times extended to 10.30am to avoid this rush.”

“My wife and I stayed here 2 nights on 30th & 31st Oct '11. The hotel was well packed and buzzing. We booked a meal on our first night for 8.30pm - this was a mistake! Obviously we got the last remains of grossly overdone food which must have been sitting for ages. So on our second night we ate out - which was an inconvenience. Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety on the menu. The staff were very nice at the hotel and there was entertainment on the Sunday night. Our room was comfy and well equipped. The leisure centre was also very good although the jacuzzi was totally hogged by a group of six who must have been totally water-logged ! Overall the hotel is looking a bit tired after 25 years on the go. K.D. Derry”

The staff extremely friendly. Leisure centre excellent. I dont have any bad things to say about the hotel. So no it was not too good to be true and if I can get such value again in the new year I will do it all again. Thanks to all the hotel staff and all at Lidl breaks for making it possible. Finally, Ireland is beginning to offer value for money once again.”
