The waiter was so nice & obliging with a lovely personality. Bedroom spotless & bed very comfortable. Lovely music & dancing n the lounge. Plenty of staff working & very helpful. Beautiful breakfast the next morning as much as u could eat & a great choice. We got a great deal for a Friday night. We thoroughly enjoyed it would definitely return. “Overall we had a very pleasant stay in the ClareGalway Hotel. Some minor criticisms would be that the public areas, reception and stairway needs some upgrading. Carpet and flooring is tired and stained and while this doesn't take away from the enjoyment of the hotel it is a little off putting when you arrive. Food was very good but again we found the waiting staff didn't listen to our requests when we'd ask for poached eggs instead of fried, two americano coffees instead of requested cappuccino, mini Irish breakfast was different each morning (sometimes mushrooms, sometimes beans but not necessarily as described on menu). Bedrooms very clean and pleasant. Staff friendly and helpful.”

They did improvise but ……..The food was excellent. Bed rooms very clean and tea coffee etc provided.Beds could have been more comfortable……not the worst I have slept in but definitely not the best . The hairdryer was the best I have ever used in all of my hotel stays. The swimming pool excellent and the sauna.Steam room poor and jacuzzi was being fixed . Didn’t use gym but appeared very well equipped. The gentleman in charge there was very pleasant and helpful .”

“Good location 10 minutes east of Galway. Staff friendly and hard working. Our room was small but fully equipped. TV had better choice of channels than I've seen in this kind of hotel before. Good adaptable lighting. Very clean. Good parking with elevator convenient to all rooms. Food the usual fare with several restaurants very nearby. Couple of supermarkets, pharmacy and dry cleaners too.. Gym at the rear of hotel.. We'd be more than happy to visit again if the opportunity arrives..”

“we had a wonderful stay at the hotel last wk great food staff & location staff great nothing was too much ,,.Leisure centre was so well laid out .although there were few little things that we were dissapointed with ,,resterant was so clean& welcoming but not all staff serving tables wore face coverings & at breakfast & no rececption staff wore any during our stay at all although there was a screen at reception , also in bar waiting staff had no coverings at tables , rooms were so clean & welcoming ,our biggest shock was when we asked for extra towels to be sent to our room & when they were brought up housekeeping walked into our room with them TOTAL SHOCK as one was in shower & other about to get ready ,we had a sign on door not to be serviced or disturbed as we were quiet nervous with Covid 19 ,would def stay again & reccomend hotel but this is something shocked us ,,although wouldnt stop us staying there again ,,well done to all staff”

“We had a fabulous night in the Claregalway hotel. Receptionist was very welcoming, Sanitiser in the lobby, room was very clean, lovely decor. The evening meal in the restaurant was absolutely delicious, so much so, we had lunch there again the following day. As a vegetarian, it was great to have a choice on a menu. Thank you! The waitress was very friendly and helpful. There was great emphasis on the adherence to the Covid restrictions, everything was in place, there was at least 2 metres between each table, with a clear walkway to the toilets. Breakfast was lovely too. Perfectly cooked. All Staff in the hotel are very friendly, really makes for a wonderful stay. Would highly recommend. Thank you”

“Even before we arrived for our stay Anna on reception called me to book us in for breakfast and dinner, and booked our slots for the swimming pool Anna was pleasant and welcoming from the get-go, answered all my Covid related queries and sent a follow up email to confirm what we had discussed Upon arrival we were met my the lovely Anna who checked us in speedily and confirmed our dinner, breakfast and pool reservations We arrived to our room which was pristine and really spacious, plenty of towels too which we needed for the pool. The staff at the pool were just as friendly, and helpful, as Anna We ate in the restaurant both nights, food was delicious. Really large portion sizes, good variety on the menu and a really good kids menu too. Our waiter was a guy named Anele who was really friendly and even made small talk with our little one The service overall was excellent, food was great and we had a great time. Will definitely be back. Thanks Anna, and team, for a great stay”

“Hotel was very nice & clean and our room was large and above the normal standard. The bar was good too, large and had a restaurant section. The food was average to good and very reasonably priced. Being served was a bit of an issue as it was 9:22pm when we arrived for food and they finished taking orders at 9:30pm. The waitress made her disapproval apparent even though we finished ordering our food before 9:30pm. This didn't bother me too much at the time, but what happened when leaving had me question the quality of staff... Upon arrival the receptionist was very welcoming and courteous, however, when we were leaving there was a different receptionist, and she insisted on booking in an entire wedding party, rather than let us slip past them even though our room had already been paid for in full (so all we really need to do was hand back the key). We were in a rush as we were attending a wedding ourselves in Galway City Centre, and even though we relayed this information, she would not sort us until the party was booked in. This took between 15 - 20 minutes and when she finally served us it took roughly 30 seconds to process our checkout. This put a dampner on what had been a very enjoyable stay. Overall I'd give the hotel a 4 out of 5 for the standard of the rooms & vacilities. The staff however did not live up to this grade (I'd give them a 2 out of 5). It would be nice to see an addition to the locals working in the hotel.”

“Beautiful Hotel and the room was perfect. The only thing that we were disappointed with was the rude waitress in the breakfast hall in the morning. She was very snappy and rude but all the other staff were exceptional, especially the receptionist who was very helpful. Pool, jacuzzi and all facilities were brilliant.”

“The hotel is relatively new and bedrooms were lovely. However the overhead lighting in the bedroom was very dim. I had to go to reception to request a lamp in order to be able to read. For such a new and modern hotel I was surprised that the leisure centre and dressing rooms were fairly shabby. However there was a notice up advising that the leisure centre would be inaccessible for renovations so hopefully they will update that. Food was good. Overall 3/5”

“My husband and I met at the Claregalway Hotel on 17 June 2011 so to celebrate we returned there 5 years later on 17 June 2016. From the moment we entered the hotel we were treated like VIPS for the duration of our stay, the girl on reception was welcoming & on congratulating us informed us we were being upgraded to a suite, we were in heaven. Later, having been seated for dinner, we were treated to a glass of champagne as the waitress again congratulated us. Dinner was superb on all levels, as was the service. The restaurant manager even attended to our table for a few words. The suite was beautiful and extremely comfortable. The next morning we enjoyed a fabulous breakfast that catered for all requirements. All in all we had an extremely enjoyable stay & cannot wait to return for future celebrations.”

“Nice hotel. Room very good if a little worn in certain minor respects. Only 1No. table lamp for double bed - no reading on one side of bed. Very good bathrooms and showers. Very clean everywhere. Good heating system in rooms, and beds very comfortable. Breakfast not as well organised as with the competition. Delays in maintaining the necessary quantities of food, e.g. the blackpudding tray was full at one stage, and disappeared shortly afterwards not to reappear for about 10 mins. Hot food of average quality, and brown bread of excellent quality.”

“I stayed one night with my husband. Receptionist was nice and friendly doesn't really tell you where to go for breakfast in the morning. Carpets need hoovering on the way to the rooms. Room had damp patches on the ceiling. No overhead lights only lamps at the side of the bed. Didn't feel comfortable looking straight across to the gym and into the pool. Room got extremely cold during the night. Bar staff need to be more assertive as they keep customers waiting along time to be served there drinks. Breakfast in the morning very well presented once you knew which room to go to. Had to get cups ourselves as the waitress dropped down our coffee but obviously thought we would drink it from the pot. Came back after been out in the city that night to be told no residence bar and was not offered even to have a drink in the lobby even though the receptionist the next morning said that we could have had it in the lobby even though that was not an option from the Night porter.”

“Room: A bit shabby, but that is often the way with family rooms. Poor lighting - the main bulb from the uplighter lamp was blown and was not replaced despite request. No bedside lamps or desk lamp on arrival, but we hot a bedside lamp on day 2 and a desk lamp on day 3. Part of corridor was a bit smelly. Bar: Tried to have dinner in bar one night. It was busy so we needed to attract attention of staff member to get table cleaned and have menus brought down. After 15 minutes waiting to order, we went to another member of staff who told us that they did not serve food in that section of the bar. Restaurant: Breakfast was delicious. Nice fry, good bread, delicious pastries, good selection of food. Dinner one night was very tasty and there was a good selection. Overall, a reasonable value option, but some of the staff Could do with more training. Saved from a two-star review by good food and cheap deal price.”

“First impression found a dirty towel mixed in with our clean towels which was dealt with very promptly by the staff but in my opinion this was unforgivable. Unfortunately it does not end there, there was a top missing of the toilet flush in the bathroom & there appeared to be chips out of the bath. We decided to go for a swim & at the bottom of the stairs leading to the pool was about 10 plastics bags of old clothes or rags. In the mens changing rooms very few of the lockers had locks & a number were even missing doors. There was a seat facing the showers which was rusted. The water in the pool was also questionable & we decided not to stay too long. Not everything was bad in this hotel, we had lunch at the bar which was tasty, we also had dinner in the restaurant which was excellent as was the breakfast the following morning. The staff in the bar & restaurant were very attentive & always had a smile. Would I stay in this hotel again? Probably not, first impressions are a powerful thing & finding a dirty linen on top of the other things certainly does not leave a good impression. The only redeeming factor in the Claregalway was the food & staff but not enough to encourage me to go back again.”

“We stayed in the Claregalway Hotel for a weekend break. The staff were great and very helpful we arrived a little early for check in but our rooms were ready.We used the leisure centre the pool sauna ect were fab. We had bar food on Friday evening the steak would melt in your mouth and the chicken perfect. On Saturday evening we had dinner in the bristo and we had no complaints. Breakfast was lovely you could have a great choice and once again staff were over to serve you and make sure everything was fine. We will be returning to this great Hotel again and you are only 10 minutes drive from Galway plenty of shops.Also a very child friendly hotel. A great choice on the Lidl -break sight”

“i do not know why the Clare Galway hotel is not a 5 star hotel .... we arrived in the evening and the lady in the reception was so helpful,,friendly .and went out of her way to help any special needs we needed for our child ... The house keeper or mayb she was manager in not sure was so helpful also with request we made for our child ..and that was how it went on for our stay ... the pool .sauna ect was lovely as was staff .... we later went for a meal and food was mouthwatering ... and later in evening we had a brilliant night of entertainment .. room was very spacious ,clean .and snug .... breakfast was a fest of whatever food one might require ...over all it was the best hotel experience we had in about 4 yrs and we go away wuiet a lot in Ireland .. and in my experience ...if we are met with a smile when booking in then we know we are home from home .... and we certainly got that from Clare Galway hotel ....”

“The staff were friendly. Check in was easy. The room was spacious. The beds were comfy. The restaurant was very flexible in regards to dietary requirements. The only drawback is that the lift was small, only enough room for the wheelchair. 2 trips were required.”
