“I was very happy with our stay here. Hotel is located in a nice area,just ten minutes away from the lovely town of Kilarney. Hotel was lovely and comfortable, bar there for your meal and drinks, staff are very friendly as well in bar and hotel which makes a huge difference for you when you are staying in a hotel. Plus they have a pool as well which was great too. Food very tasty. Really enjoyed our stay here, keep up the good work Parkavon hotel, great value for money thanks.”

“Just back from.a lovely 3 day break in this hotel. From the moment we arrived and were greeted by the lovely reception staff. Very nice to deal with it lovely staff in the dining room..asked for poached eggs and was not a problem. We used the leisure center and it was lovely. We dined in the bar and I had there burger absolutely delicious. Bar man was so friendly and nothing was to much trouble. The room was ready when we arrived and was lovely and warm and inviting. Asked for more towels again it was no problem Were there when we arrived back from breakfast rooms were serviced every day.would definitely return to this hotel for another break.”

Nothing was explained which I thought was strange and even stranger when I went back down with a query the same gentleman was explaining everything to the next guests! Such a fabulous clean beautiful hotel with fantastic, friendly, helpful staff and the nicest food we have ever had in any hotel. The kids had a ball and loved the swimming pool. “Had a great stay here for 3 nights, perfect location to go sight seeing and to walk into town. Rooms are a little bit older, but it's a very well kept hotel and spotlessly clean. Bar was really friendly and food was good, the burger in particular was very nice with locally sourced produce. Will visit again when I get a chance.”

“Lovely location. Staff were so nice and helpful and lady at reception provided us with a fridge for bottles for our baby withing minutes if arrival. Cleaning staff always had a smile on there face. Breakfast was fab as were the waiting staff there. Cant ever fault anytime we have stayed here and looking forward to staying there again in November.”

“I had a very nice stay in The Park Avon. The staff from receptionist,bar,breakfast crew and housekeeping were very friendly and accomodating. The room was very spacious and clean. The bathroom a little dated but spotless and shower was good. COVID safety measures was very much in evidence and all good. Bar facilities was good. Sky sports available. Music on a Saturday night which was good. Food served in the bar. I had fish and chips which was nice. The only thing I might suggest is a little more variety on Bar menu. So all in all I would stay again.”

“We had a lovely stay in Killarney and Parkavon is so close to many things. We walked to the Killarney house and Gardenswhoch joined the Killarent National Park. Your only a 15 minute drive to the Gap of Dunloe. The rooms were good and clean. There was some night time disturbances with an argument in the hallway with other residents and one tried accessing our room. This wasnt the hotels fault. The breakfast was delicious and fresh. Staff all round were welcoming. Only downfall was 11am check out if it was 12pm it would lead to more ease in the morning. I'd definitely stay again.”

“We were very happy with the first two nights the hotel was clean and our room was fine for a three star hotel. However the gym was a sorry sight and needs to get the machines back working. Then the Friday night a 'hen party' arrived and that changed everything they did what they liked early evening before hitting the town and then during the night it was chaos shouting, running up and down corridors and ringing our phone. Our room was close to the group so we got no sleep and I did report it to reception next morning. They listened and said no other complaints, come on!!!. Lovely for a family early week but think before you book Friday or Saturday nights. I will anyway.”

The pool is small but very well organised for these times - we were able to prebook pool times for our use only. Hotel is well situated with a 10 minutes walk into town and easy access to the National Park.”

“To be honest i was very disappointed ive stayed here many off times before but the hotel has gone down big time, the room was only 1 star a hostel would be cleaner. Breakfast wasn't fit for a dog from start to finish i would not recommend this hotel. Front desk staff also very rude one in particular a blonde lady in her late 50 early 60 so so rude. If i got a free night here i still wouldn't stay”

“Stayed here for two nights stay with my mum and 2 kids,we nearly froze with the cold the first night i complained the next day by the time someone came to fix the heating that evening it could nt be fixed till d next day,they did want to move us on d second nite but there was no point as we were leaving the next morning. The downside 2 this hotel is the pool, altho its a lovely size 4 kids, its a bit run down. Just needs a basic refreshment. There was an issue with our bookin which didnt go thru on their system so we had 2 wait little while 2 get sorted, they gave us a upgrade to a 2bed suite, as an apology. Overall we would stay again & would reccomend 2 family & friends.”

“Had stayed here in 2015 and found on return that the decor had become a little dated, however the staff were as good as ever as was the food. Best feature was the bar both for food and service. The leisure centre was adequate but again let down by minor cosmetic faults ( mainly around jacuzzi area) Overall a pleasant stay.”

“Pleasantly surprised by this Family Friendly Hotel. First impressions were great, large, clean spacious lobby/reception area. Friendly check in member. Spacious, bright room family room with large bathroom. Delicious food in the restaurant. Good value for money. Only negatives were, the parking spaces are small, there weren't sufficient towels in the family room for a family of 4 and I found the waitress a bit rude and un-attentive in the restaurant on the Saturday evening for dinner... we were left to fend for ourselves whilst she chatting away to the maÃ®tre d for most of our time there. The waiting staff at breakfast made up for this thou! The pool is small but adequate for a hotel of it's size. Overall, you get great value for money at this hotel and we would definitely return :D”

“we booked two rooms for weekend of 30th september. we had two lovely clean spacious rooms. the staff were always friendly and helpful. we had a 7 month baby with us and were obliged with free food . the staff had to replace all the bed linens the baby got sick at 9pm on the saturday night and it was no trouble to them. the breakfast was of a very high standard. even though the bar area was dated it was clean. entertainment provided on both nights. We would have no trouble staying there again as it was great value. We were however disappointed with wifi. signal very weak. Mary.”

“I booked this Hotel for myself and partner and I also then booked it for my partners parents, her sister and my family through Lidl breaks. I rang the hotel to change a double room to a family room and they reassured me that everything was now booked correctly. We arrived to find one family room was cancelled. The gentleman that was on reception was first trying to tell me that we cancelled this until another woman said she would look into it, 20 mins later they confirmed they had another room( Lucky enough the hotel wasn't booked out) The hotel itself was really nice but little things like this would turn you off choosing the same place to stay again. Thank you.”

“Very disappointed with our stay here, firstly the hotel did not have our booking, so they could only give us a room with one bed and a sofa bed, which was extremely uncomfortable. The man on reception said that we would get a discount in the morning when checking out for our troubles. The room did not seem very clean, the carpets were all stained and the dresser had sticky stuff on it. When we were checking out the next morning I reminded the receptionist about the issues with our booking and also the room. She was so rude in her reply, that the room I was given was fine and that was what I booked and that I had to pay in full and also had to pay extra for the child's breakfast, when I informed her that he was ill and did not have breakfast, she said that was nothing to do with her and I had to pay.... Lucky for us we only had booked one night here.... Very disappointing”

“To whomever it may concern, I have to say I would never stay in the holiday inn in killarney again the beds were so uncomfortable. They don't give cash back so I had to go half way down the road in the rain in order to have a drink in the bar of the hotel. The swimming pool was dirty. There was a big red stain on the carpet in my room don't no if it was wine or blood my daughter was petrified incase it was blood. 2 of the towels in our bathroom were dirty. Thanks Debbie Healy”

Also, kids suppose to have drink when adult drinks tea after meal. Orange juice would be nice. We didnt know we could ask for side food with our mean on the first night. We left the dinning all hungry. Other two nights of our 3 night stay, we had chips/marshed potatoes and it was nice. So, please, ask, you will get. The whole stay was nice and fantastic, but the lack of no internet connection either in the room or the slow connection at ONLY reception area was too bad for Holiday Inn Hotel. It spoilt the fun for kids who has their ipad ready to use”

“Stayed at the Holiday Inn on a 2 B&B and 1 evening dinner break. It turned out to be superb value. It is located within a five minute walk of Killarney town. The room was spacious and comfortable, the staff were polite and professional, The decor was a little dated as would be expected from a hotel of this vintage. The leisure center and bar areas were both pleasnnt to occupy and good entertainment was available in the bar both evenings of our stay. An all round good value hotel for a relaxing weekend. Reccommended.”

On the negative side it was too easy for kids to purchase films on the TV without you knowing....should be a parent lock in place. The swimming pool area needs a drastic over haul. The Jacuzzi wasn't the most inviting and the steam-room was a bit grotty. That said, I would use this hotel again.”

All in all I would readily reccommend this hotel to visitors to Killarney. good location for visiting lakes, Muckross House and other sights.”

The worst part of the stay was the experience in the leisure centre, lockers hanging off, shower rails full of rust, cracked tiles and broken doors. The Jacuzzi stunk of must and mould. The steam room was full of rust and just didn't feel healthy to walk in the leisure centre let alone use it. This was very disappointing.”

Our room had 2 large double beds and was very comfortable and clean. We were in a room very close to the pool area which was a concern for me as I thought it would be very noisy, but I need not have had any concerns as there was no noise and the close proximity to the pool was great for us as we were able to change into our swimming costumes in the room and come back and have our showers. The pool though small was lovely and the warmth of the pool water was a pleasant surprise. We thoroughly enjoyed our swim here. Dinner was gorgeous and breakfast just as nice. Overall I would have no hesitation in recommending the Holiday Inn Killarney and I can't wait for our next trip to Killarney.”

The room location was ideal for the kids for the pool, but the decor and cleanliness stadards have dropped. Food in the restaurant is very overpriced for the quality and the kids menu is quite expensive for the very lmited choices. Beds very uncomfortable and one of our beds had collapsed in the centre and a number of lights in the room were not operational. Breakfast quality of food very limited and very dry and non-appealing, Will be a while before we decide to come back. This used to be a quality hotel, but standards have dropped.”

The TV reception was not the best, which would be important for family friendly hotels. Also TV's with USB facilities to allow guests bring their own movies to keep kids entertained while in the room would be important in family hotels, and also for business travellers. The shower in the room wasn't working, but this was not a big issue as we showered in the pool dressing rooms, but would be an issue for other guests potentially.I meant to say this to reception when checking out, but never thought of it. We had also a booking for a cot bed in our booking form, but were told when checking in that we hadn't booked one. Not sure if this is an issue as regards information from the online booking going correctly to the hotel. The Bar was fine, but the food was only average. Found the hotel in an ideal location, few mins away by car/ taxi from killarney town centre ideal if you just want to check out the social scene with friends. Hotel itself was in great condition. Very clean and adequately furnished! Rooms were spacious and when we booked twin rooms it was a lovely surprise to get 2 double beds! Check in staff were helpful and pleasant to deal with. Also found the management to deal with issues promptly. E.g. Had a problem working our shower in our room and when I phoned reception, they had one of their senior staff up to the room within minutes and he too was very helpful. I will most definetely be returning to this hotel again when we are back in Killarney and hopefully stay longer. I would also recommend to anyone. Ideal for families/ groups.”

Not only would I recommend Holiday Inn but def recommend Today fm breaks. Hotel and breakfast for 39e pp. if this is considered 3 star i look forward to seeing what you rate as four or five star!!”

I know all these items could be requested but they should be standard items really.. We did use room service for breakfast by ordering from reception and it was delivered on time.. Also we used the pool and it was clean & well kept also there was lifeguard. We enjoyed food in the bar on 1 evening and the service was very good. All the staff we encountered were lovely & helpful... A good expericence overall !!”
